MONGOLIA TO COLLABORATE WITH SOUTH KOREA IN THE GAS SECTOR





Over the past 30 years since Mongolia and South Korea established diplomatic relations in 1990, the two countries have successfully developed and expanded multifaceted friendly cooperation in politics, society, the economy, humanitarian efforts, and culture and education with cooperation in the mineral resources sector being one notable example.

Today the opening ceremony was held for the project “Establishment of the Legal and Institutional Framework and Capacity Building for Gas Safety Management in Mongolia” as follow up to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on April 29, 2025 between the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia and the Korea Gas Safety Corporation (KGS).

The event was attended by around 50 distinguished guests including the Mongolian side led by Dashpurev. B, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and Bayanbaatar, P, Chairman of the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority, and South Korea’s delegation led by Ambassador Choi Jin Won, KOICA Representative in Mongolia Ms. Haenglan Jo, and KGS President Mr. Gyurnggoog Bahk.
