PROJECT RESULT MEETING SUCCESSFULLY HELD

The project “Improving the Quality System of Energy Sources to Support improving air Quality of Mongolia” is successfully implemented from 2021 to 2025, and is being concluded this year. This project was carried out by the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia with the financial support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), through the grant aid of the Government of the Republic of Korea.

The project results conference was held on May 26, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar. The following officials attended the event:

·         H.E. Mr. Choi Jin-won, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia,

·         Mrs. Jo Haeng Lan, Country Director of KOICA Mongolia Office,

·         Mr. Choi Chun-sik, Director of the Korea Petroleum Quality and Supply Authority,

·         Mr. Sung Woo Chung, Director of the Mongolia Office of the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation,

·         Ms. Oyuntsetseg.D, Chair of the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia,

·         Mr. Khishigdalai.Ch, Director of the Petroleum Policy Implementation Department at the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, along with representatives from other government organizations.

Within the framework of the project, the following major activities were successfully carried out:

·         Renovation and modernization of the Central Laboratory for Mining and Petroleum,

·         Provide and installation of laboratory equipment that meets international standards,

·         Training programs and experience-sharing activities to enhance the capacity of specialists and experts,

·         Development of professional and methodological recommendations for policy documents,

·         Preparation and publication of practical manuals for laboratory analysis and testing.

Participants emphasized that the project has made a significant contribution to promoting the use of cleaner and higher-quality energy in Mongolia, and to improving the quality control system in the petroleum sector.
