The signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia and Korea Gas Safety Corporation

Mongolia and South Korea establish diplomatic relations in 1990, marking the start of their cooperation. Over past 30 years of diplomatic relations our two countries successfully implemented, expanded, and developed friendly cooperation across all sectors, including politics, society, econonics, humanitarian, culture, and education. And cooperation in the minerals and mining sectors remains to be the key to long-term strategic partnerships. 

In this context, the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia and the Korea Gas Safety Corporation (KGS) signed a MOU for Technical Cooperation on April 29, 2025. Through this agreement, the two sides will collaborate on gas safety operations, the legal framework, training and research activities. This not only elevates the cooperation between our two organizations to a new level, but will also contribute to strengthening the friendly relations between our two countries."

It was emphasized that the signing of this MOU plays an important role in expanding and developing bilateral cooperation, and in implementing the technical assistance project aimed at establishing a legal framework and strengthening a integrated control system for the safety of importing, storing, transporting, distributing, and operation.
