Mongolia, located on heart of Asia is bordered by Russia to north and China to South. With total land area of 1.56 million of km2. Mongolia is 19th largest country in the world and 2nd largest landlocked country.
The geography of Mongolia is varied, with the Gobi Desert to the south and with cold and mountainous regions to the north and west. Much of Mongolia consists of the Mongolian-Manchurian grassland steppe, with forested areas comprising 11.2% of the total land area. The whole of Mongolia is considered to be part of the Mongolian Plateau, far from any oceans, with average elevation of 1580 meters above the sea level.
Mongolia is known as the "Land of the Eternal Blue Sky" because it has over 250 sunny days a year. Mongolia is located in the Northern Hemisphere temperate zone, surrounded by high mountain chains that are blocking the wet winds, Mongolia has an extreme continental climate. The winter continues long with cold temperature but summer is hot and not so long.
