Newly opened two exploration blocks covering total area of 19,408.2 sq.km is available for cooperation between MRPAM and companies. All companies whose wishes to participate are invited for an open/ transparent based Bidding Round (predefined award criteria).
The companies can bid on the interested blocks for awarding petroleum exploration rights and start bilateral negotiation with MRPAM under the Petroleum Law of Mongolia.
Block XXX - Gurvanbayan covering an area of 5,045.4 sq.km belongs to Eastgobi basin. It is located across soums of Ulaanbadrakh, Khuvsgul, Saikhandulaan, Sainshand, Urgun, and Erdene in Dornogobi province.
The total of 2,150 km of 2D seismic survey and 111.6 sq.km of 3D seismic survey were conducted from 1997 - 2007. Seven (7) exploration wells were drilled three (3) of those with oil shows.
Block XXXI – Davst lies in central massif of Tamsag Basin, covering an area of 14362.7 sq.km. It is located across Matad and Khalkhgol soums of Dornod province in the east Mongolia.
Approximately seventy-five (75) exploratory wells were drilled from 1996 to 2011 and 21 of those wells with oil prospects. 7600 km of 2D seismic and 5000 sq.km of 3D seismic survey were acquired within the Davst Area by the COTAMO and Petrochina Daqing Company.

Optional data
MRPAM have made available for purchase on a non-exclusive basis copy of the available seismic and drilling/ basic well log data from wells in the Gurvanbayan and Davst blocks upon request. Copies of field tapes are also available for an extra charge.
